Version 3.0 of the Ag Survivor High Plains Ranch scenario has now been released and is available on the Ag Survivor website at

This update includes a major update to the Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage (PRF) Vegetation Index insurance component of the simulation. For the 2010 crop year, RMA changed the intervals that were available. High Plains Ranch version 3.0 reflects that change as well as updating vegetation index data, PRF premium rates, PRF indemnity calculations, and some Internet Explorer browser display issues that have developed since the release of High Plains Ranch version 2.0.
RMA recently announced further updates to PRF insurance for the 2011 crop year. Those updates will be incorporated into High Plains Ranch version 3.1 scheduled for release in August 2010.
The Risk Efficiency Tool was recently updated in the RiskNavigatorSRM.com toolbox. This update provides a new Excel file that contains minor changes to the worksheets and background code in the Risk Efficiency Tool.

The Risk Efficiency Tool has two major risk management tools, a SERF analysis and a stoplight diagram, that allow you to compare alternative risk management actions.

The Human Resource Risk Assessment tool was recently updated in the RiskNavigatorSRM.com toolbox. This update provides a newer flash file version of the Human Resource Risk Assessment tool that is enabled for printing, saving, and reloading of a saved file. We think you’ll find this new version easy and pleasant to use.

The Human Resource Risk Assessment tool is designed to assist the business manager in making a complete HR risk assessment and deciding which sources of HR risk require controls. The Human Resource Risk Assessment tool calculates an index number that allows the manager to get some basic idea about which HR risks represent the greatest threat to the business. Then, the manager will have a better idea about which sources of HR risk need attention in the future and which represent little threat to continuing business activities.
